I see the 3w4 arguments, when they say that his fear of being worthless and failure is what causes his misery. However, I see it in a different way, I think he hates the idea of staying in Beadford falls and living a mundane life because he has a fear of being trapped, a fear of missing out on his dreams and possibilities. This to me, seems very much like the core fear of a 7, rather than a 3. He wants to travel the world, be a part of many different possibilities without having to commit to a life that keeps him away from this freedom: the fear of being trapped. Therefore I vote 7.
