I could see 9w8 over 8w9. He kind of seems oriented around his connections and his peace of mind. I feel like most of the time in his regular state he’s a type 9, and then trouble hits he goes to 8 to “referee” the situation and maintain peace. He doesn’t seem to care about control, but more about things not disrupting his peace. It’s kind of funny too, because often when he gets captured, it’s because he wasn’t directly engaged with the situation. It’s like his motivation fluctuates. Even when he gets captured, he has this kind of peaceful contentment.
