A big misconception is that Fe = caring, kind person, and that may be where a lot of EXFJ votes are coming from. In reality, Fe vs Fi deals more with where values come from, how values are handled, and how emotions are handled. Riley's values come from within, and she believes in fighting for her values over maintaining harmony amongst her friends and family (like in Girl Meets STEM or even Girl Meets Her Monster) (huge indicator of Fi). She also always tries to work through her emotions independently (another huge Fi indicator) rather than depending on others to help her figure out her feelings, like when she chooses to step away from Lucas and tells Farkle not to tell people about her feelings before she figures them out for herself.
