Buckethead the persona is most likely INTP 5w4 Buckethead the person AKA Brian Patrick Carroll, could in fact be a 5 OR a 9 (9w1 most likely) I will refrain from voting for enneagram at the moment. I don't usually believe in typing people by their music, but I think it's somewhat comical that this guy has hundreds of albums that have little-to-no emotional connotation besides a general sense of instrumental delivery. Then the FEW times he displays explicate emotional connotation in his music, people say he's a Fi-user. Any type can be emotional. "Colma", "Hold Me Forever (In Memory of My Mom Nancy York Carroll)", and "Missing My Parents" seem to be the main point of evidence towards this. Then you have tens (possibly hundreds) of other albums that seem to have titles for the sake of having titles. Pike 13: 9 tracks, 33 minutes, every track is listed as "[untitled]" Pike 19: 11 tracks, 31 minutes, every track is titled "Teeter Slaughter" then "Part 1-11" for each track number. Splatters: 4 tracks, 31 minutes, each track is "Splatters" then "1-4" for the track number. Pumpkin: 31 minutes, and 19 TRACKS NAMED PUMPKIN "1-18" Etc. Keep in mind, most of Buckethead's music is instrumental, there are not many lyrics to go off of here. The albums and tracks that are deeply emotional, are clearly outliers, and it's foolish to say Ti-Fe users can't be emotional about such things. I think he's obviously a Ti-user who has created a complex system and internal sense of logic to make music by. Hell, in 2014 he put out 60 albums! Remember, work ethic is not necessarily a Te or Ni thing. Take a look at the eclectic genres of music encompassed on the Pike series alone, how could he be anything other than a Ne-user? Here's evidence from the man, the myth, the legend, Mr. Head, Brian Patrick Carroll himself... In this podcast interview, he speaks out of character. He is Brian here, not *just* Buckethead. His Si somewhat shows in his sentimental and frankly nostalgic attitudes towards his interests. I know there is a quote on here about Buckethead "Not understanding human emotions" but I'm pretty sure it's just a joke, part of the character. From this interview, Buckethead appears to have developed Fe, he's 53 years old after all (48 in this interview) and has had time to develop his inferior function. He seems to want to understand people, and seems to enjoy being useful. A common trait of a Fe-user, and yes no matter what young INTP internet stereotypes will tell you, INTP are Fe-users. He speaks of building an amusement park in this interview. Which seems like the ultimate dream of a Ti-dom in a romanticized conceptual sort of way. Being able to use Ti, to create a system in-order to make people happy, thus satisfying the fears of his inferior Fe function. https://web.archive.org/web/20171013123630/https://www.spin.com/2017/10/buckethead-heart-condition-podcast/
