I agree with ISFP, that seems to fit. Really strong Fi with Ni wisdom in there too which backs up his Fi. I think it’s important to note he seems to use Ni IN SERVICE of his Fi personal values which suggests Fi-dom rather than Ni-dom. Then his Se gives him this down-to-earth, active, pragmatic quality. He also sometimes shows a kind of silly prankster humor you see in some Se users. So what you see is he works each day in service of his Fi / Ni vision doing what he feels a strong calling to do. Which takes me to the more contended subject of his enneagram. This guy strikes me as enneagram 1 more than 4. He’s all about egalitarian values and legitimately wants to do the right thing and make the world a better place. He has that enneagram 1 stubbornness in his morals too, bless. I think he’s a 1w2 rather than 1w9 as he’s fairly social and open with people. He comes across as gently cantankerous, opinionated yet pleasant and fun to be around, all at the same time! Yea so a 1w2 with very strong Fi might sometimes come across 4-like. What clinches the enneagram 1 over 4 for me is his morals have a more whole world based worldview like a 1, rather than looking to stand out like a 4. I don’t know how else to say it, but the consistency of his moral world view is such that it shows in his music, the way he acts in his business deals, interviews, what others say about him. He’s consistent and unchangeable in his DIY anti-corporate approach since the 80s. On the side of the people, fighting the good fight. That’s commendable, and what’s more is actually very enneagram 1 like. A caricature of an enneagram 4 is the artiste attempting to intentionally stand out and be strikingly different (looks or sound wise) for the sake of artistic effect and expression. I don’t think Ian does this. Also (I love 4s) but as the identity of a 4 changes their opinions might develop along with them. At least that’s how MacKaye comes across to me. Open to debate. I think it’s worth remembering a lot of Fi music artists are automatically typed as 4, though that doesn’t mean he isn’t one. I just don’t think he is. I think ISFP 1w2 is correct personally. Whatever though, he’s a genuinely good person with strong morals. We can all afford to take notes from his example.

Ian Thomas Garner MacKaye (/məˈkaɪ/;born April 16, 1962) is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, musician, record label owner and producer. Active since 1979, MacKaye is best known as the co-founder and owner of Dischord Records, a Washington, D.C.-based independent record label and the frontman of the influential hardcore punkband Minor Threat and the post-hardcoreband Fugazi. MacKaye was also the frontman for the short-lived bands The Teen Idles, Embrace and Pailhead, a collaboration with the band Ministry. MacKaye is a member of The Evens, a two-piece indie rock group he formed with his wife Amy Farina in 2001
