(1/4) ❝Welcome...to my beloved city. I... or we machine lifeforms, I suppose, have a keen interest in humanity. Love. Family. Religion. War. The more human records I unearth, the more charmed I am by their complexity. This city is one of many areas I created out of desire to understand—to know—humans. It's grand, don't you think? Almost...spiritual. And yet, it's currently nothing more than an android graveyard! I seek to learn and adapt all facets of humanity! Some desired love! Other family! Only then did I realize the truth...The core of humanity...is conflict. The fight. Steal. Kill. THIS is humanity in its purest form!❞ Fellas, Adam is not an E5. Though — "I strived to attain nothing less than the essence of humanity itself", "Knowledge expands horizons and enriches experience" — he is a pure head type indeed. The only reason why Adam is (mis)typed as such a withdrawn type is due to the misunderstanding of the entire Head triad and the social instinct. Striving for knowledge doesn't make someone an E5, since it's a desire accessible to any other type, albeit with different underlying motivations behind it (for example, in SX4's official book they are described as having "a great deal of mental activity, which FEEDS EMOTIONALITY"). Intellectual orientation, rationalisation, seeking knowledge to cope with anxiety and the separation of emotions from the mind are traits that define every head type, and to type Adam as an E5 is to completely ignore the passions, fixations, defense mechanisms and the general psychodynamics of the Ennea-types. 𝗦𝗢𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗗𝗢𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗧 Either Avaricious or Gluttonous — Adam is for sure a Social dominant. Social instinct — also called 'adaption' and 'syntony' by Oscar Ichazo (yes, 'syntony' is not sexual, Lily and Hart misinterpreted his works, Ichazo never called the sx instinct as 'syntony' in any of his works and in his latest book he attributed this name to a social instinct, later renaming it to 'adaptation') — answers the question 'Where am I?', 'What am I doing here?' that describes a need for orientation and gives us the direction of how we should conduct ourselves in order to succeed in nature as well as in our society by adapting ourselves to nature and society and by using them for our basic purpose of survival. To successfully adapt and orient in society there will be a need for strategic and intellectual abilities, decision-making and problem-solving, social instinct gives us the intelligence to 'read' people and respond to them, adapt to them, and communicate subtleties. Orientation to society, tribe values, community coupled with rationality can give an interest in ethics, religion, politics, philosophy, contribution to society, and et cetera. The adaptation instinct relates to the Cognitive System (brain), and it's bound to analytical reason in Ichazo's Protoanalysis, which is responsible for understanding structures and when asked a question such as 'What is being?" it answers “At the bottom of myself I have thinking as my only instrument to refer to my own self. Doubt is the only instrument I can refer to.” All of that perfectly lines up with Adam's rationality, perceptiveness, desire to comprehensively grasp the intricacies of his environment, a sense of obligation, instilling within him the determination to behave as a positive exemplar for his brother, despite his inclination towards emotional detachment from the latter, and the intense desire to gain knowledge about and conform to the social conventions and customs of mankind. (Though I'd argue some of these traits are also individual indicators of the Head Triad). 𝗦𝗢𝟳 > 𝗦𝗢𝟱 E5s are defined by a passion for avarice and a fixation on isolation — thought avarice not in a literal sense, but as withholding their self from others. E5s constantly have the fear of being invaded by the world, fear due to hypersensitivity and a feeling of vulnerability. Being fearful, mistrustful, and feeling invaded by the environment, they decide to minimize their desires and distance themselves from the world, which asks more from them than it gives them, retreating into the inner world of their heads to shield themselves. It is a character that defends itself from impulsiveness, from the primal instinct and emotional intensity; treasures emotions, resources, and himself, for fear of being poor; gives up too easily thus leading a life of avoidance and resignation. The characteristic defense mechanism of this character is what Freud called "isolation," meaning the separation of some contents of the mind from others, as well as the compartmentalization or separation of ideas and feeling. Called "over-observer" by Oscar Ichazo, the point 5 is distrustful of the outside world and prefers to wait and observe, missing out the life as a result.
