Pretty average Ne dom kid- he's so caught up in the New that he fails to quite realize the extent of mortal peril that he, and everyone around him, is on for himself (underdeveloped Ji). What gives away the fact that his introverted judging function is not Fi though, is the fact that there is no rift between him and Toji for his beating up Shinji, even after he comes to be aware of the toll that being an EVA pilot has on the latter. This strikes me as a pretty typical Fi blind teenager moment as conversely, an ENFP might feel really bad about it after the fact and either 1) double down on Toji being in the right to save his ego, or 2) try to make up for it somehow by doing good deeds for Shinji. Kensuke, however, does neither. He just kind of stays lost in the sauce of being an idealistic military brat, even as the world around him is falling to pieces. Eventually, his family moves away from Tokyo-3 due to concerns for their collective safety, marking his departure from the original series.
