Ahh I love her sm 😭🫶 Her Te-Se was quite evident from the get-go wherein she acts all cold and closed-off to us, focusing mostly on work instead. Even Ripley points this out: Chief Ripley (hands on her hips, happily): Martinez is an investigative journalist who won the Pulitzer Prize for bringing down a major terrorist network in Yemen. You’ve probably heard of her. Chief Ripley (crosses her arms): She’s one tough cookie, and she’s not known for her patience, but her smarts make up for her brusque personality. Most of the time… And on top of that we get to see it from Carmen herself: Carmen (crosses her arms, grinning): So you’re the famous <Rank> <Name>! I’m used to working alone, but let’s giddy up and you can show me what you’ve got! (Se) Carmen: <Name>, this Annette Sommeur better not waste our time. I don’t care if she is some big-time magazine editor doing some fancy-pants photoshoot… Carmen: People say she’s a real handful, the “Queen of Mean”! Well, she better tell us what we need to know about the manuscript she bought so we can move forward with this investigation! Carmen (hands on her hips): Where the heck is she? Maybe we can poke around the Hall of Mirrors and find the dang manuscript ourselves! (Te-Se) … Carmen (crosses her arms): Look, I know I may seem blunt, but I just don’t like wasting time. You of all people must understand that, <Name>. Carmen (pumping her fist, angrily): We better get to the bottom of this murder quickly. We’ve got way bigger fish to fry… I see her strong Te and Se in her interactions with suspects and even her own teammates. She doesn’t dilly dally or waste time with unnecessary details; she gets straight to the point— even threatening others with violence in order to get to it (as shown in her interactions with Lars, who has weaker Te) As for her Ni, even if it isn’t as prevalent as her Si, it’s still present in her character. I’m not sure about any clear examples but I do think her nonchalance during In Plain Sight may be attributed to Ni? Since she was proven to be innocent whereas Angela, despite being a Ni dom, acted suspicious throughout the case (though that may be due to the fact that she turned out to be the mole and that was likely out of panic/desperation). Also she’s the only suspect who does not have **anything** on her additional details, the only suspect criteria she fell in being physical attributes. Maybe that was her Ni in action, telling her to not say or do anything weird the whole time so no one suspects her? As for her Fi, I do see it as being kinda weak in the earlier cases. Carmen doesn’t engage in personal conversations with others and is mostly work-oriented. Though I can kinda see it develop as WE goes on and when she adopted Sanjay.
