his interactions with Sydney definitely come across as still-developing Fe. there is a level of awkwardness, particularly in how he tries so much to connect with her but seems to miss the mark; there are no real empathetic or understanding ties between the two of them. other key Ti-Fe interactions include his behavior while cheering Bradley on. he facetiously goes along with the emotional tone surrounding him, in the way of a younger person who has the potential to understand but lacks that harmonic drive… Stanley seeks to understand Sydney, but trips up constantly in how to handle emotional moments. however, he is rarely affected by her own harsh reactions. when she explodes, he takes it in stride. when she rebuffs him, he keeps trying as much as he feasibly can. in fact, we even get a moment where he does successfully figure out Sydney’s emotions and responds without being insensitive or tone-deaf. when she informs Stanley she isn’t romantically interested, he agrees that he could tell. in truth, he himself didn’t know his own feelings; he focused on the interpersonal Fe aspect rather than the personal Fi one. if i have to be honest, his side of the story was one that hit close to home! lmao it can be tough for ExTPs to see the divide between interpersonal validation and personal depth, the former seems like a good bandaid solution for the latter. i understand where ENFP voters are coming from; Stanley is a great comparison for high agreeability and valuing of socio Fi. he demonstrates a lot of vulnerability every time that Sydney becomes emotionally vulnerable! but this reads as being more about his focus on Sydney and their relationship, rather than really empathizing with her feelings. their experiences and feelings are extremely different, which is usually a negative for types that balance Fi-Te. for Stanley, it’s interesting and not off-putting at all. his Ne though? absolutely off the rails. i still think about the jellyfish comment sometimes! lmaoo TL;DR— Stanley consistently prioritizes Sydney’s feelings and interpersonal aspects over his own personal feelings. he tends to be insensitive or poorly timed with his comments and seems more comparable to High Agreeableness than aux Fi… he sure do have Ne though!!
