𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓 𝐅𝐈𝐕𝐄: 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐎𝐁𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐄𝐑 [1/5] 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 & 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐦𝐚 P5 is part of the Doing Group centered around Adaptation Instinct. All types from this group struggle with the instinctual question of “Where am I?”, referring to their brain’s deduction. This question arises from inner fear and stress. Their survival is based on the head organs consisting of cerebral cortex, cerebellum, basal ganglia, thalamus, limbic system, and brain stem (medulla, pons and midbrain). For these types, instinctual survival comes in instinctive adaptation with our environment. Since the adaptation is brain-based, the instinctual adaptation manifests as a form of intelligence who is capable of learning and discerning things around. Their sense of existence comes from successful adaptation and transformation of our environment to fulfill our needs. Unlike Being Group who has trauma with the Mother figure and Living Group who has trauma with the Father Figure, Doing Group’s trauma comes from themselves as a child. Their trauma is related to their natural spontaneity, curiosity, actions, and how their siblings or others react to those. They use Analytical Reasoning, a Thought-based reasoning by deducing whether things are right or wrong. Due to their trauma, they lack sufficient tact to fit into their environment. Thought is used to discern the rights or wrong so they can successfully fit it. All Doing Group types have problems in social interactions regarding work and doing. Their lack of social tact makes them afraid about their position in the environment and they try to cope by being analytical, transforming social interactions into logical concepts that they must adhere to successfully adapt and fulfill their needs. Doing is the result of their theoretical deduction about social reality which becomes a constant struggle whenever things don’t go as they theorize. As they are concerned with their Adaptation, all Doing Group types have Deceit as their Psychic Poison, related to their sense of being deluded and worried about how to do things. In other words, it’s about self-deceit about the state of the world. Deceit also works the other way, as Doing Group types become deluded with their own theory and falsely believe that everyone must adhere to their theory of ideal social environment. In P5’s case, Poison of Deceit transforms into Confusion and develops into Ego-Stinginess. P5 is perpetually confused about their environment and what they should do. To cope with the resulting fear and stress, they become stingy, rigidly believing their Thoughts while voraciously learning about everything else, becoming acute Observers in the process. These voracious observing tendencies are pronounced in their Domain or area of interest, focusing on Domain of Social Interaction. They investigate social happenings in voracity, observe and evaluate people from afar while they become stingy with their lack of interaction and the resulting “socially-disconnected” theory. P5’s initial trauma comes from the perception that their natural spontaneity and resulting actions have been diminished and restricted by siblings or other people in their environment. They feel that their freedom to learn and adapt has been restricted and limited to a certain range, which makes them feel alienated and unrecognized. From this wound, they end up developing a fervor thirst for knowledge, becoming curious and investigative towards everything including their restricting sibling figures. They believe the things that have been restricted from them are “forbidden knowledge” and develop a voracious thirst to learn and investigate them. Desire of “forbidden knowledge” also comes to social situations when they voraciously observe and investigate how people interact with each other, developing “the ultimate social guidance” inside their head as the way to enjoy social life.

THE OBSERVER The Trialectical action of the Adaptation Instinct is the Observer Fixation, point 5, in the Domain of Social Interaction. Observers investigate doing with an intense analysis of any situation and what they are getting into socially. This makes them acute observers. Observers have a voracious curiosity, investigate and observe everything, and are passionate about life and social interaction. They want to enjoy life and to experience the fruition and fulfillment of their social life.
