In the episode "Charity Bean", where we get to know Declan he is shown to be a kind-hearted, hard-working, motivated, brave, somewhat self-confident and also really friendly, helpful, gentle and calm towards other people. However, he is also competitive in this episode and gets annoyed easily when things don't go his way. In the same episode he is also shown to be working as a volunteer on a Charity Fête, which means that he is good-natured, empathetic and kind to people or animals in need and towards other people in the Charity Fête. However, he is sometimes mean and rude, mainly towards Mr. Bean, because it is his rival in winning Irma's heart. His and Bean's battle to win her heart is mainly shown in the episode "A Car For Irma" where they both try to encourage her into picking either Declan's or Bean's car to get to the Donkey Sanctuary. Both Declan and Bean use different ways to want her to pick either car. Declan tries too hard for Irma to win his heart and he does not always succeed to make her happy when she is with him in this episode. Irma just wants to get to the Donkey Sanctuary, but Declan does not take that too seriously and he just enjoys her company in his car and ignores the fact that she is in hurry. He also put a plank with nails on the road to make Bean’s car’s tire pop, which was simply malicious. He did that because he wanted Irma to ride with him and not Bean. In "A Car For Irma" episode, Declan looks at Mr. Bean's Mini and says his car is "not A REAL car" and laughs at it. Then he shows Bean the outside and the inside of his own car in which he has arrived with Irma to Bean's flat and really brags about it. It shown he can be selfish and arrogant. His behaviour mainly and often depends on who is he talking to. There are times when he is nice and friendly to his rival, Mr. Bean. In "Charity Bean", when Mr. Bean gets enough money to restore the barn for donkeys living in the Donkey Sanctuary, he congratulates him.
Biografie
Declan is a supporting character and a minor antagonist in the animated series. He is Irma Gobb's friend and Mr. Bean's rival in winning her heart. Declan is kind-hearted, as shown when he decides to do various tasks in order to earn money to build new barns for the donkeys in the donkey sanctuary and also friendly and brave, as shown when he jumps out of a plane without hesitation as one of the tasks in the charity fete but also really competitive. He is also usually mean and rude towards Mr. Bean. He has appeared in two episodes of Season 5: "Charity Bean" and "A Car for Irma".
