(1/5) I’m close to finishing the manga, I think she matches best as an INFP. I wrote this analysis earlier on, but her cognitive processing has been quite consistent! *You need to go through all the pages for the other functions, including the Ne-Si / Fi-Te axis. She’s a traumatised character but I think even with trauma the auxiliary function doesn’t suddenly vanish (I don’t rely on the loops theory). Rather than look at her surface behaviour, it might be more helpful to look at *how* she processes, and how the functions interact, which results in such behaviour. I believe Koyuki is an extremely obvious Ji (Introverted Judging) user, her whole character revolves around making judgements in reference to her own subjective values (moreso Fi-dom) and impressions. There is so much Fi, it’s hard to start LOL. ☑️ 1. Fi > Fe Not once have I seen this girl ever consider the objective group values. Neither has she ever bothered to adapt to it. In fact, she’s so disconnected from how the group and external even sees her. “I don’t get it. What on earth’s so scary about me…?” — She doesn’t think of herself as scary because she’s more in-tune with her own self-perception. “I don’t get it. Did something merit an apology?” — ‘I don’t understand what others see and value (the apology), because I personally don’t value this as a necessity.’ (Absolutely clueless on her effect on others or how others view it, because she’s always referencing herself first in her judgements.) “Prickly, scary, ice queen.” Despite her confusion in why others see her the way they do, she KNOWS how they see her and what they say about her. Even so, she’s made absolutely no efforts in trying to correct how others perceive her, or bettering her image for the collective good and comfort. She doesn’t seem to care even if she frightens others or makes them uncomfortable. Fe constantly references to how the group values, then make judgements adjusting to the collective, where has Koyuki ever done that? She constantly REJECTS Fe. Not to mention, her empathy is very Fi in texture. When she deeply empathises with others, it’s not because she’s reading their emotions in real-time, but because she makes reference to her own emotions and experiences (Fi-Si) “Just end it. Hanging out with people who need to have the group tell them, who they can and cannot like? Seriously?” (literally ANTI-Fe) “If it were me, I’d honestly rather be by myself than keep fake friends around.” — Fi dominant judges based on the subjective personal values of the self, rather than conform to external objective values. Fi refuses to compromise its values for the collective. The external adapts to the Fi, not the other way around. This is consistent throughout Koyuki’s character, she REFUSES to act for and adapt to the collective (Fi>Fe). “For the most part, I don’t care how people see me anymore. But it kinda bothers me when they look at me like that.” — Fi; She cares more on the external’s effect on herself > Her effect on the external. “I can’t say my way is the right way (Fi is extremely subjective to the self, this is textbook Fi ‘with no desire to affect others, to impress, influence, or change them (the external) in any way…’), always taking others’ feelings into account is really admirable (Fi-Ne; She still keeps an open mind and respects others who consider collective values, even if she herself does not).” When around strangers, she’s more tuned in to how she feels > the group’s lively atmosphere “Uh… I’m uncomfortable. And I really, really don’t like it.” When deciding what to do when some girls sat at her desk, she weighs “Which is less efort: Speaking up or waiting?” Again, making judgements on what SHE personally values and what makes her comfortable, not on how the girls or group would feel. Her processing was not Fe-oriented like ‘Which is the most acceptable and harmonious way to deal with this that makes them comfortable…?’, it was ‘So which takes less effort and is most comfortable personally to me?’. She can be polite, but for the most part? This girl does not care how she comes across to others NOR how she makes them feel. It’s always how things make her feel. (Focus on the Self > Tribe) Both Fi/Fe can be closed off, distant, reserved, self-absorbed & selfish. But a high Fe user will still make judgements referencing off from what the collective values. Throughout the story, Koyuki has consistently referenced her own self out of Fi. Her judgement is extremely subjective and personal to her own values and self. Fi is everywhere with her. I feel like this line of hers “What is it that I want…?” was taken as evidence on lack of Fi. Which is understandable, but that’s just her push pull trauma (with strays into Attachment Theory). Even Fi users would be confused when your trauma is telling you two contradictory truths (that the self doesn’t understand nor can accept yet): “I don’t want to be attached” “I want to see them again”
