★ spoiler warning! i've caught up with the manga and i see no ounce of ne at all. the manga is heavily revolved around him and miyano so we see him acting friendlier, but his behavior seems to be more aloof around other people in the spinoff manga. he just happens to seem more ENFP-esque around miyano because he likes him and wants to be his best version of himself around him (more outgoing, flirty, gentler, playful) in contrast with his usual self with hirano and oga LOL anyways, i think his use of se and fi is very prominent in the manga, so that makes me think he's more of an XSFP. DISCLAIMER: i'm still reading about the functions so i apologize if i mix things up/don't explain things concisely! feel free to correct me and add arguments if you wish. ★ ENFP VS XSFP he's only relying on his impulses and desires to pursue miyano, which shows more se-fi more than anything. if sasaki were to be an ENFP, he'd be more focused on possible ways to make miyano like him back while thinking about it more, (ne-fi) but instead he takes more action without too much forethought based on his feelings; which also implies lower ni. examples : a. wanting to go with miyano to the bookstore unplanned simply bc he wants to spend time with him b. suddenly confessing to him in chapter 13 out of nowhere with little thought on how it can affect their current dynamics sasaki would also be a lot more "dreamy" and unrealistic about his crush on miyano because of ne. he would be thinking about all the possibilities of his actions and where the relationship may lead to no matter how absurd or detached they are from reality + may get energy from this, but he doesn't do that at all LOL. the boy doesn't think for too long and just acts on his impulses, taking every chance out there to get closer to miyano because he wants to. he also doesn't get his energy from wondering how his relationship with miyano could be (ne), but he gets the energy from his actual experiences with him. (se) ENFPs can also do that yes, but he'd be a lot more "head in the clouds" and scatterbrained about it rather than acting on his feelings whenever presented with the chance. due to ne-te as well, if sasaki were really an ENFP, he'd be more stressed about the relationship in a sense that there are many ways their relationship can get better or screwed up, which would make him less impulsive. sasaki can also be messy about his feelings, but he focused more on how he can share these feelings with miyano the best way possible rather than coming up with several ideas of how he can do that. (ni over ne, this can be seen after he confesses to miyano and screwing it up by accident for a moment in chapter 14) ★ XSFP VS ESTP i also initially thought he might be an ESTP. however, if he were to be a ti-fe user (he kind of reminded me of sunjing from tamen de gushi initially!) he'd be a lot more hesitant and careful with his approach with miyano with ti using reasons instead of his feelings knowing the risks it may bring to their relationship; and he would be more of his playful, considerate and flirty self with his classmates as well because of tert fe. he'd also be a lot more in tune with other people's emotions, yet he seems to only be extra considerate of miyano's feelings, which implies fi over fe. i'm not saying that he's 100% inconsiderate of other people who aren't miyano, but if he were to be an ESTP he'd show a similar level of consideration/awareness with everyone else other than miyano whether he likes it or not. instead, he seems to be more aloof and unexpressive with others in general, and he doesn't seem to mind it at all. he doesn't adjust his behavior with anyone else but miyano. ESTPs are also fi-blind, so chances are sasaki would be less aware of the gravity of his own feelings towards miyano, or he'd be a little more hesitant about pursuing him without knowing how he feels for him back. sasaki is more of an XSFP than an ESTP simply because he doesn't think of the risks at all. he just does whatever his heart tells him to do. both ESFPs and ESTPs can be equally impulsive, but ESTPs are more likely to calculate the risks of their impulses bc of their ti, whereas ESFPs do things bc they felt like it bc of fi. so even if ESTPs may seem impulsive, chances are they've already thought about it and decided that the risks are still worth it. both types can do both, but there is a difference in what reaction is prioritized first, which in sasaki's case, are his feelings for miyano. this shows fi over ti 100%. ★ IN CONCLUSION / TLDR ; i'm pretty sure that sasaki is an XSFP because of his heavy se-fi usage, however i'm leaning slightly towards ESFP, although ISFP is still plausible. rather than ruminating on the possibilities and potential of their relationship (ne-fi), he relies more on acting with present opportunities and what he feels is right (se-fi).
