(1/2) addressing the e4 fix over e3 (see: user mayoi's 874>837 analysis), i'd like to expound on how rinne's e4 'envy' factor amplifies his sx 8 instinct in !! main story. helen palmer's theory of e4 in 'The Enneagram' reflects very much rinne's line of reasoning in ch. 'Purgatory'. in the MS2: "The core issue is loss and a subsequent lowering of self-esteem. 'Would I have been abandoned if I were more worthy?' Fours live with the conviction that there was an original source of love that was taken away. 'I was loved once, where did it go?' There is often a history of literal abandonment and the need to grieve for early loss; however, feelings of abandonment are painfully recreated in adult life by a compulsive attraction to the unavailable and the (usually unrecognized) habit of rejecting whatever is easy to obtain". the quotes from ch. 'Purgatory' corroborate with rinne's inclination to self-sabotage and resigning himself to the fate of being a 'scapegoat' for people's anger and inability to take in criticism of ES, ie.: "i was once an old-school, orthodox idol, and quite famous too" "however! idol units, such as Eden, and later all of ES, stole my show!" "i took a great hit, and quickly fell out the limelight and the map." "but i was no longer considered orthodox simply because i'm solitarily solo" "since when did the definition of the orthodox, the 'right' idols, change? i can't accept that, and dissatisfaction has been welling up inside me for quite some time" "of course, those who designed the marketing strategies that encourage unit activities did nothing wrong, and the fans that supported that did nothing wrong!" "it's just that i was too dumb to predict the 'big tide' of times, right!?" "it's no one's fault. if anything, it's my fault that i fell behind the times!" "i'm a loser who failed because i couldn't read what was gonna happen. and society usually calls losers 'evil'!" "you know what i mean? i'm the evil! i've done evil stuff, so don't simply forgive me!" "don't just settle with the idea that i'm a poor, deceived person who is actually kind at heart!" "--then whom should we vent our anger? at whom should we aim our raised fists?" "i have neither remorse nor regret. i'm simply so happy to be able to smear those idols you love so much!" to which in 'Happy End' and 'Winner' with niki (when he decides to leave in order to preserve hiiro's happiness and resume his own unhappiness as a monarch) and other ch. like 'Conceit' with kohaku, and 'Treasure', later explains how his fear of constant rejection from the public from whether he was acting 'orthodox' or contrarian, makes no virtual difference as he will always be suppressed by fickle public interest. he finds self-sabotage as a crux to strengthen his resolve to leave ES and quit pursuing life as an idol, and in turn orchestrates a lot of martyr-like actions which kohaku found to be arrogant and demeaning and cage-like bc of how rinne's thinks he has experienced the worst of it all, therefore can predict the outcome of people's actions, therefore can pull people into schemes without consideration of their own individualistic thoughts. he closes all doors on himself bc he sees himself as undeserving, constantly drilling in his failures over projecting the ideal self as an e3 fix does. naranjo's 'Character and Neurosis' comparison e3 to e4 can parallel rinne's lines in 'Anoxia' and 'Treasure' as well: "While an ennea-type III person identifies with that part of the self that coincides with the idealized image, the ennea-type IV individual identifies with that part of the psyche that fails to fit the idealized image, and is always striving to achieve the unattainable. Here is a person animated by a vanity that fails to reach its goal because of the admixture of the sense of scarcity and worthlessness (of point 5)". see: rinne's dialogues in this ch.-- "'you're wrong', 'that's incorrect', 'that's not the right answer'... that's all i've ever heard. that's all i've ever heard throughout my life, so much so that i'm sick of it" "i wondered, did that mean i had messed up everything from the very start..." "such a thought gripped my heart with fear. i lost all motivation and couldn't even take one step further" "am i pathetic? even now, i'm still terrified." "if everything i have done is wrong, i'll start to feel that i should have never been born into this world--" "and i can't even breathe." -- cements his own defeatist self-resignation. according to helen palmer, an e3 fix "learns to suspend their own emotions" "because they were loved for their own achievements", and "focus their attention on earning the status that would guarantee them love". rinne rather lets his emotions overtake him, makes situations ambiguous, and entrenches his reputation instead of cater and polish it to be respected. his black and white thinking in !! story can be attributed to his sx 8 where he finds himself to be the weakness -> consequentially gets overshadowed and
Biografie
An idol who lives and breathes his hobby, gambling, and treats his life no different than one of those gambles. He used to perform as part of a duo with Niki Shiina. Though a cheerful and generous individual, there are times he can be not only wasteful, but downright tyrannical. He is Hiiro Amagi's older brother. He likes to test his luck. With a voice that's mischievous, as if he were playing some game, Rinne's performances are powerful and larger than life. Rinne is a member of Cosmic Production's Crazy:B.
