'Though Kai may be able to put on a composed and likable facade when the situation calls for it'- he manipulates his social image to preserve his interests and values- his religious devotion and self-serving actions masked as socially beneficial- sp/so. '...in reality he is a lot less agreeable and more self-interested, though he outwardly justifies many of his actions as being “for the greater good.”'- introduces how much of a cornerstone Fi is for his self-preserving, present-oriented decisions, particularly when contrasted with his Fe blindness- 'Kai has a strong aversion to sentimentality and can be quite dismissive of the feelings of others, including his own adoptive mother Juliana. He even goes as far as insulting her for trying to make amends with him, and when Skye writes him a letter calling him out for trying to kill Lucian, Kai scoffs at it for being “sappy” and tears it up'. ' seeking to impose his own agenda as opposed to taking in the input of his fellow councilmembers'- further cements his Fi, hinting at E8. Overall, he seems to defy and dismiss any perceived outside interference with his beliefs and decisions lustfully to protect himself from external control, rather than strictly to uphold his convictions and righteousness to others like an E1. You even mentioned that 'it is likely that Kai has turned to spirituality as a sort of coping mechanism after he got caught in the explosion, to deal with the uncertainty of life'. This is further highlighted by his use of social image as means to an immediate end. Fantastic writing! Once again, the worldbuilding left me in awe.
