"That's not how it works!" I heard this all the time from someone this exact type. I would present information to him or the group in a very matter of a fact way that was completely wrong. He was sharp and would always catch what I was saying. At that point I would ask him why I was wrong and he was right. He would explain it and I would wait a moment before saying something like, "No, that's stupid and you smell bad." A decent friend, we talked about a lot of similar interests and he would update me on new cool things he bought that he wanted to show.
