Ezra is a clear Ni dominant seen through his big-picture narrative structuring as a primary lens. He often begins with ideas like ‘I really wanted to understand this moment in our nation’s politics, so I invited XYZ on to help walk me through it.’ The intros alone are a heavy combo of Ni and Fe, where he is not forcing out his ideas, but collaborating with guests to tease out a shared reality. His solo pieces are more solitary visions framed via collective importance. INFJs who work in fields dominated by Ti/Te types like journalism often have heightened Ti/Te, and are commonly mistyped as T-doms. Ezra’s style is classic Ti (‘something I’ve been feeling/thinking about lately is…’) rather than Te dom like ENTJ (‘the current politics are showing us a clear answer’). We see his full stack working in every interview, and just because of his extensive breadth of logical knowledge in politics and economy, and his strong debate skills, does not point directly to a T dominant type, nor E dominant (he reads books of fiction, politics, meditation, etc, and prefers one-on-one rather than group interviews - he’s not afraid to dive deep). While he typed ENTJ in the past, this was during a time while he was running Vox and heavily focused on Te-dom tasks. INFJs are some of the most commonly mistyped in the world, and can easily mistype when they are in chameleon mode. Looking at obvious ENTJs (like Al Gore or Gavin Newsom) draws a firm contrast between Ezra’s level of depth and comfort with it, both in the intellectual and emotional spheres combined.
