Let's! Correct! Our! Perception! of Si! The first step in reaching the final conclusion as to what is Si; naturally, is by asking the question "what is introverted sensing"? To answer the question of sensing, we shall imagine an anecdote: try to imagine a healthy, complete human body. your body, as a human, shall suffice if you will. now if you have a healthy body, you will see that you have 5 senses to take information unto the mind, sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste. as we perceive the world with these 5 senses, it leaves an impression on our mind regardless of how complex, how deep, how personal that impression is. the interaction between our 5 senses of the environment is not yet connected to the act of processing information, and as such the void of rationale in the perceiving function (irrational) will rely on the impression the senses made to be processed by the judging function (process of rationalizing) the next topic, we will take the most common interpretation regarding extroversion: Jung describes extraversion and introversion not as a gauge of social adeptness, but rather as a preference and attitude, the attitude of placing importance whether on the consciousness of the present moment, or inside the depth of the unconscious mind. since a lot of people here already agrees on ti-se vs si-te, we will focus on what Jiyan's perceiving function is: Se or Si back to the conversation at hand, now that we have learned the definition of sensing and introvert, let's prepare the bowl in which we will mix the two definitions together: when someone has sense as their dominant function, that means the baseline, the thought flows from the irrational act of sensing, experiencing, interacting with the world using the senses. but therein rises a problem, if the act of sensing is to interact with the world around; what is there to interact with if the sensing is directed internally, directed at the inner unconscious? if you paid attention to our previous anecdote, the answer becomes immediately clear: the internal sensing, senses the subjective impression that they have internalized. they sense like extravert-sensors do, by interacting with the environment; only this environment is a collection of impression the senses made. they built a new, grand palace of environment. a colorful copy of the world around, fitted to their subjective unconscious, to interact with as they please. this is the reason why Si-dominant people are very good with memories, because they value the impression that made it's way into their subconscious, as for them, it is the correct environment, the very world they interact with; but, not the world they derive meaning from, as this internal world is already the meaning they derived at. this is why Si-dominant people very much value stability, as they do not like that the meaningful internal world they derive at to be disturbed. disturbed by what? by other people's internal perception, internal impression made in the unconscious of other people. Si-dominant people believe other people also value their own internal sensing, and as such they also hold sentiment to other's internal sensing. they don't want people's internal sensing, which they respect as much as they respect their own, to muddy their own impression which they painstakingly built into a coherent internal world full of meaning, which from this collection of wisdom, they can extract some to impart to others, like pouring into a glass of quality wine from the deep underground cellar. to be continued
