The Mother is a cult leader and a significant character in Dying Light : The Following. She is seen as a Goddess as she can mysteriously grant her people immunity from the Harran Virus. Crane is sent to the countryside to meet her and find out how she found a cure to the virus, upon hearing so from someone who escaped from the Countryside through a newly discovered cave system connecting the city of Harran to the countryside.
