Barney Stinson MBTI -Persönlichkeitstyp

Persönlichkeit

"Welcher Persönlichkeitstyp ist {profilename}? {profilename} ist ein {MBTI} -Persönlichkeitstyp in MBTI, {enneagram} - {iv} - {tritype} in EnneArgram, {big5} in Big 5, {socionics} in Socionics."

Part 1/2 I totally get where the 3 POV is coming from!! Howeverrr I don’t think Barney’s fixation is on deceit/vanity and appearing successful rather than it is a gluttony for constant “legendary” experiences. It’s stated multiple times in the show that everything Barney does is based around his need to escape his feelings of emptiness, he has a need to make everything “legendary”, to make constant plans and all that stuff because on the inside he feels empty. I think he has a very strong 3 fix, but I think the point of his character is that he only does all of that to satisfy his gluttony and to feel less empty (KEY TO E7!) rather than over-identifying with an image, I still think it’s VERY strong on him!! But I think the key to understanding Barney comes from E7>E3. Like Barney, 7s are described as “charlatans” “ The glutton is one who approaches the world through the strategy of words and "good reasons"-one who manipulates through the intellect.” “ Charlatanism" conveys additional meanings, such as expressive ability, the role of a persuader and manipulator of words, deviously overstepping the boundaries of his knowledge. More than a mere planner, ennea-type VII is a "schemer,"” ~ Character and Neurosis I think his Playbook is another good example of 7 stuff, coming up with multiple, exciting, complicated and diverse plans to get with a girl, as well as how he’s always challenging himself to never run out of things to keep his mind busy. I’m going to copy-paste some key elements to E7, I think some of them speak for themselves and I have a bit of trouble explaining them but hopefully my argument comes across! ^ ^ 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐆𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐲 ➸ “Ennea-type VII individuals, are more than just open minded, exploratory: their search for experience takes them, characteristically, from an insufficient here to a promising there. The "insatiability" of the glutton is, however, veiled over by an apparent satisfaction; or more precisely said, frustration is hidden behind enthusiasm-an enthusiasm that seems to compensate for dissatisfaction as well as keeping the experience of frustration away from the individual's awareness. Whether in the question of food or in other realms, the gluttony of the glutton is typically not for the common, but, on the contrary, for that which is most remarkable, for the extraordinary.” ~ Character and Neurosis 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: “𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲” ➸ “Sevens can be the hardest to reach because they have created an ego structure that to them appears to be an enlightened state. This is the meaning of “I am okay.” Even deeper than “I am okay,” the Seven response to any spiritual guidance is “I know.” These people are often conceptually enlightened, having heard it all and incorporated it into an air-tight belief structure. “Emptiness? Oh yeah, I know, we’re all one,” is often the Seven response to the challenge of going deeper than the known.“ ~ Fixation to Freedom 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞: 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 ➸ “ The talking style of Seven is called stories. These are the con artists of the Enneagram. They can be charming, turning any event into a delightful story.” ~ Fixation to Freedom THIS SCREAMS BARNEY! There’s one episode where this trait stood out to me a lot! I think it’s when each character is telling their POVs on what happened with the captain and Barney was always insisting that he was there, trying to insert himself into the story because he felt the need to feel part of experiences. 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐦: 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 ➸ “Rationalization was described by Ernest Jones as the invention of a reason for an attitude or action the motive of which is not acknowledged. Though it is not always regarded as a defense mechanism, there is enough reason to claim that it is, for even though it does not entail the inhibition of impulse (but, rather, the opposite), it does involve a distraction of attention from the "real reasons" for a person's attitudes and actions, and in making such actions appear as good and noble, it satisfies the demands of the superego.” 𝐀𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐧 ➸ “ The Seven avoids pain. In order to avoid pain, they keep relationships light and uncommitted. This keeps them skating on the surface of life. Another way they avoid pain is by staying in their heads with “magical thinking” about the future. Their fear of pain is a terrifying thing to them, much worse than the pain itself. However, most Sevens won’t know this since they are generally very successful at avoiding pain in the first place. To avoid pain, Sevens stay on the move, ever in pursuit of new experience. Avoidance of pain makes them charming conversationalists and sometimes brilliant thinkers. The lateral thinking of the Seven, and the new connections that are made, are attempts to enjoy the moment while avoiding the possible emotional depths of pain.”
