Biografie
Tyler Williamson-Derraugh (born July 7, 1986) is a Canadian former long-track speed skater and the current commentator for the ISU in short track alongside Gavin day. Tyler Derraugh: Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to a family deeply involved in the sport—his mother Lori is a longtime coach and his late father Peter competed for Canada at the 1968 Winter Olympics—Derraugh began speed skating at age three and joined the Manitoba provincial team at 13.[3][4] He moved to Calgary in 2004 to train at the national center, initially focusing on short track before switching to long track in 2010 after an injury, and went on to represent Canada at five World Championships and 19 World Cup events over a decade on the national team.[3][4] Notable achievements include a silver medal in the men's relay at the 2009 World University Games, finishing 17th overall as Canada's top performer at the 2010 World Sprint Championships, and personal bests such as 1:45.48 in the 1500m (2014) and first place in the B group at the 2011 World Cup in Moscow.[4][1] After retiring in 2015 to start a family and take on head coaching duties for Speed Skating Manitoba—where he has since served as technical director—he leveraged his athletic background into product design, development, and testing for innovative hockey skates at True Temper Sports in Winnipeg.
