anyone who types Altair as an INTJ needs to fundamentally revise their understanding of cognitive functions. throughout his early days as an Assassin, Altair displayed a very blatant disregard for the future consequences of his actions, only thinking about the present. an early example can be seen when, despite Al-Mualim's request to keep Abbas's father's death a secret, Altair still decided to tell the truth to Abbas because he felt it would alleviate his grief in that moment. Altair's black and white outlook on authority and morality ultimately led him to full on arrogance and as we all know he was stripped of rank and respect, having to earn everything again. while it's true that he was always a cautious and calculating individual, those traits are in no way solely attributed to Ni-doms. Altair was credited with many developments to equipment and methods, which is a clear indicator of dominant Ti. he was always scanning his environment to spot what was wrong / incorrect and could be improved on or be done differently ("MY way is better). he was an extremely forceful person, to a fault, and throughout his life he could never outgrow that trait, only dial it back slightly. i can confidently say that Altair used Ni as tertiary function, and thus not always healthily, however with time he gradually developed a more forward-thinking approach to the Creed as mentor, realizing the Creed should grow out of some traditions and keep up with the times.
