I think he's more of an INTP, clearly in a Ti-Si loop. INTPs in this loop tend to over-analyze even the smallest mistakes they've done previously in their life, trying to find reasons and mechanisms over what went wrong, but since they're ne is neglected, they struggle to come out with different ideas to solve the ongoing problem. He probably went to this loop when everything he tried before didn't work to stop the human so he's now stuck into doing just the same action over and over. Plus, he clearly has inferior Fe. Since this is the weakest function for him, he struggles to know what people really want and need. Ixtps actually want to fit in and be in harmony with people but they don't really know how, just as Dust wants to help all of his friends but he doesn't know how, ending up into doing the wrong actions thinking it's just right
