taken from a historical anthology made in the 400ADs [A New Account of the Tales of the World/Shishuo Xinyu, chapter 3:Affairs of State, paragraph 20] "簡文爲相,事動經年,然後得過。 太宗曰:「一日萬機,那得速!」" translated roughly as 'Under Jianwen's supervision, policies can wait for years for approval. Huan Wen thought it was too slow, and often advised Jianwen to be more quicker. Jianwen replied" One day, a million opportunities/ A million things can happen in a day, how come i be that quick?!?" its also said that this dude never cleaned his bed for a long time and think its a good thing when his bed lived a mouse as he see traces of mouse track,so when his subordinate killed it,he try to appease him by telling him the mouse was killed , his reaction, "now that the mice is killed, i cannot forget it, and since the mice can affect people negatively, wouldn't that be more inappropriate?"

Biografie

Emperor Jianwen of Jin (simplified Chinese: 晋简文帝; traditional Chinese: 晉簡文帝; pinyin: Jìn Jiǎnwén Dì; Wade–Giles: Chin Chien-wen-ti; 320 – September 12, 372), personal name Sima Yu (司馬昱; 司马昱), courtesy name Daowan (道萬; 道万), was an emperor of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (266-420) in China. He was the younger brother of Emperor Ming and installed by military leader Huan Wen. Prior to taking the throne, he had served in important roles in the administrations of his grandnephews Emperor Mu, Emperor Ai, and Emperor Fei. Both in his service to his grandnephews and in his own reign as emperor, he is generally viewed as a weak-willed figure who showed enough wisdom to continue to survive and extend Jin rule, but whose effectiveness was also compromised by his over-dedication to philosophical discussions of Taoism and other related philosophies.
