TYLER IS NOT AN E8 AND I WILL DIE ON THAT HILL!! Before I explain I wanna say I am not actually a brewstew fan myself, I’m doing this on behalf of one of my friends who watches Brewstew (a665 👀) I got most of my sources from the Enneagram Institute and my friends really vast knowledge on Brewstew… I can see where the 8 fix comes in as in literally every video Tyler makes he always has a lot to say about the instance mostly in a negative way, people can perceive that as him actively trying to almost take control of that environment and change it. However that is not the case, Tyler is very humble and quite paranoid about the future and it is present when in intense situations, which contradicts the idea of Tyler being an e8 because e8’s directly puts themself out there to either challenge or take over the situation, which Tyler does not do at all! This is why it is more plausible for Tyler to be an e9, one of my examples is the first episode of Awkward Situations. In a section of the video, one of Tyler’s friends accidentally exposes his search history to him in which the word pegging was used 😳 Instead of outright verbally abusing him. Tyler stays silent and instead internally judges him, Tyler didn’t directly confront his friend which could mean he was trying to avoid any tension between him and the rest of the people there. Which is one of my major reasonings on why Tyler is an e9. Tyler is not the type of person to expose or directly confront situations and you can see a lot of this play out in the awkward situation videos. He doesn’t attempt to control the situation and place himself higher than others, he completely avoids the situation (a common thing that e9’s do) I am also going to transition to his trifixes 6 & 3, I think Tyler’s 6 fix is also very present in the awkward situation videos as-well as the haunted duplex trilogy. 6’s are known to overthink about the future and how an action will affect them in the long term, they are also known to mask emotions or issues to prevent being a burden to most people. You can see this in the second awkward situations videos where Tyler got a nosebleed and refrained from waking up the 2 elderly people next to him so that they could continue sleeping. Tyler refuses to ask for help during the whole incident as he believes that he should be the one handling it as an adult. This is a clear instance of Tyler’s 6 fix at work and further proves the idea of him having a 6 fix in his tritype. The next fix 3, is also heavily displayed during the same video. Tyler is quite adamant on keeping his stable adult facade whenever he is stuck in a troubled situation, during the same video. Tyler is at a dentist to clean his teeth and is in pain from the dentist scraping against his teeth with a metal sickle(?..) Tyler is about to cry from the pain and immediately starts pushing it back because he doesn’t want the dentist infront of him to see him cry. Tyler is worried about his ‘stable adult man’ image about to crumble infront of the dentist and is overthinking about how the dentist will see him afterwards. This is the 3 fix in his tritype being activated to protect his social image, unfortunately his 3 fix was not able to protect him in the situation and the dentist catches him crying because one of his tears escaped. This prompts Tyler to get angry with himself because he allowed the dentist to see past the image that Tyler created for her to see (vulnerability), he also stopped seeing that dentist because he couldn’t handle the dentist having a different image of him than what he wanted her to see. Which is mainly what 3’s do in similar situations, they withdraw from the place to prevent the person from seeing more than that perfectly crafted image. In conclusion, Tyler is more likely to be an e9 than he could be an e8. (SX/SO & 9w1 are guesses, feel free to correct me)
