Selwyn Kane MBTI -Persönlichkeitstyp

Persönlichkeit

"Welcher Persönlichkeitstyp ist {profilename}? {profilename} ist ein {MBTI} -Persönlichkeitstyp in MBTI, {enneagram} - {iv} - {tritype} in EnneArgram, {big5} in Big 5, {socionics} in Socionics."

before i get into why i think sel is a counterphobic 6, it's important to address that ONLY se doms can be enneagram 8s, and by arguing for sel being a counterphobic 6 (a type se doms can NOT be), i must in turn disrupt the argument that sel may be ESTP. most ti doms struggle with confirmation bias. we see heavy indication of this in sel's pov, where everything briana does only further persuades him that bree is not a onceborn. "As Ti crafts its own system of knowledge, its subjectivity absorbs the facts that contradict their assumptions—Ti suspects or ignores that information and will try to deny it...they trust their thoughts more than any external source." (indepth-mbti). others have mentioned that a ti dom probably wouldn't be as duty oriented as sel is, but let's not forget he's been oathed since a young age and how he was brought up. (EDIT: also, as i'm arguing for sx/so 6, social 6s have quite the adherence to duty and often uses their sense of duty as a way to structure their life. they can be demanding for compliance to collective norms and rules) i think the main issue people are running into when debating whether sel is ISTP or ESTP is his tertiary and inferior function. though i don't currently have a well developed argument on said functions, i find it necessary to mention that having inferior fe does not mean it is unused, as it is with all inferior functions. sel's ability to easily piss both nick and bree off is not exclusive to extps. teritary ni usually leads to one believing something is true, even if it's not (bree being a demon, in this case)—it's an intuitive leap, so to speak. sel's inferior fe shows itself from the emotional snaps of anger to the suppression of his emotions. when sel finds out what happens to his mother through davis' files, he immediate shuts down, compartmentalizes his emotions, and moves onto bree's issues as if nothing happened. when bree attempts to bring up the issue, he's unyielding. during the scavenger hunt, in sel's pov, we see him momentarily lose control of his hounds when bree tells him nick was right, he is a monster. at the end of his pov, we see him allude himself to the kind of monster that would "want to destroy an innocent girl". although this is only speculation, this could be his inferior fe at work, taking into account what others think of him and letting that solidify what he thinks he thinks of himself. of course, the book is only so long and only gives us so much insight on sel, so feel free to drop an explanation on why you agree or disagree. before i jump into my counterphobic 6 argument, i want to mention that i do think that he could possibly be a self preservation 8. "The Sexual Six can look like a Type Eight because both types can appear intimidating, strong, and powerful. However, in contrast to the Eight, who tends to be fearless, the Sexual Six is motivated by an underlying fear, even when they don't consciously feel it of show it," (beatrice chestnut). "They go against danger assertively, and even aggressively, as a way of denying and coping with their (often unconscious) fear," (beatrice chestnut). to me, sel's fear seems to be of being resigned of his role as kingsmage. “i realize now that his drive to hunt me down must have, on some level, been about a desperate need to prove to the chapter that he was trustworthy." i think this quote touches on what i think is sel's fear—if proven untrustworthy, it would be easy for one to rid him of his post and as a half demon, he already is at a disadvantage. "For the Sexual Six, strength is often directly connected to an illusion of independence and a sense of being able to remain "unscathed" by trouble," (beatrice chestnut). though we know sel isn't unaffected by attacks, we know from bree's pov, that he can be scattered and caught off guard, even when playing it off. i can't find the exact quote but at one point bree mentions that sel's rattled even though no one else can tell. this argument is a bit of a mess so if you need clarification on anything, do let me know! if not a sexual 6, i believe sel could be a social 6. they often seem quite enneagram 1 like, and sel has quite a few qualities that resemble those of e1. a lot of e1s are also mistyped as 8s, which could also be a correlation to what i believe is a mistype. i have not read bloodmarked yet, so this is solely based on the content in legendborn.
