Biografie
Leyla Shinwari is a recurring character on New Amsterdam. She is a trained doctor and was one in Pakistan but moved to the United States. Shortly after she moved to the United States, she shows up at New Amsterdam Medical Center with a patient in her role as a DriveTime driver. Returning to her vehicle, she discovers the patient's wallet. Upon bringing it back, she realizes the patient is in distress and helps to make an accurate diagnosis of her condition. It is revealed that she was an attending pediatrician in Pakistan, but is unlicensed in the United States.
