"whatever the situation, i instantly come up with four viable options, then choose one." i think this quote ultimately leans towards ni. he's clearly an intuitive character, but it's a little hard to grasp whether it's ne or ni. ni is about working backwards to reach a solution (starting with many ideas) while ne starts with one idea and brainstorms more from said idea. the goal is to get the ball in a position where it would most likely be scored, and kuribayashi knowing the goal, decides on an option that will (most likely) lead to reaching the goal. if we are to pursue the idea that kuribayashi is a ni dom, we'd then have to decide whether he's INTJ or INFJ. "sorry. today i'm bringing out the flashy individual plays whenever i get the chance. i will contribute to the team of course, but i need people to remember me. now that i'm finally out on the field, i'm going to get every spectator here on my side so i never have to go back to the bench." to me, this seems like te, as te values efficiency, wanting to get things done as quickly as possible. kuribayashi wants to reach the world stage as fast as possible, and individual flashy moves are how he plans to do it. INFJs tend to be less concerned about taking a quick, direct route, as long as what they're doing gets done when it needs to be done. "i know what i need most better than anyone." this next quote indicates fi over fe, as fi users tend to be more aware of what they want/need while fe users tend to be more aware of what others want/need. of course this isn't definite, as fe users can still be aware of what they want/need. for me, the hardest to prove would be kuribayashi's inferior function. it's made me juggle the idea of him being a ne dom, but inferior si doesn't seem to much fit either. "Inferior Se = inability to connect with the external physical world. Ni doms are detached from the world as it exists physically in the present moment because they are focused on what things mean in the abstract and how things will evolve into the future (conceptual vision)." "Inferior Si = inability to connect with one’s own material existence. Ne doms are detached from their own physical needs, priorities, and well-being because they see everything in terms of abstract possibilities and idealistic images, often falling ill because they stretch themselves too thin and too far in pursuing their ideas, unwilling to acknowledge their own limitations or the restrictions of reality." (according to mbti-notes) if we use a more process of elimination type of approach, inferior si is more unlikely because he's very aware of his own physical needs, priorities, and well-being. "i want to succeed on the world stage. i mean it. can you help me? make a meal-plan for me too, hana-san. i'm a picky eater. i don't even want to look at peppers or carrots." i think if he had inferior si, he wouldn't have reached out to hana nor would he have went out of his way to look for ashito to ask who made the meal-plan. he doesn't really want to explore every option like ne doms tend to want, and has a clear-cut goal for the future. i don't really have much of an argument for inferior se either, but there's a chance he's a healthy INTJ. he doesn't have too much screen time overall though, so i may add onto this later. i'm also not all that confident on his typology (as it's difficult to type a character that we don't know very well) but at the moment, i'm leaning towards INTJ. if any ENTP and INFJ voters could explain his ne or fe/ti respectively that would be greatly appreciated!
