This author seriously knows how to write static types, which is a given since it's a light novel series, but to even make rational introverts this scarily accurate? Amazing character writing. The subject in this context refers to everything completely subjective to him. His own thoughts, theories (volume 8 analysis of curses, volume 24 curing of Superd illness), ideas (volume 5 delusion with adventuring, then Eris), his own pride and ego. This makes him appear very cold and obstinate (volume 8), arbitrary (volume 9 and up) and Cliff's arrogance or rather his self-confidence most definitely has a flavour of subjective superiority. He fits the part where he tried to courteous and amicable to Rudeus in volume 9 (so that he could confess to Elinalise), to Norn Greyrat as fellow Millis believers in volume 13 and to Rudeus's grandparents from the Latreia line in volume 21, before they could meet up the Miko.
