SEVENTEEN is a 13-member South Korean boy group that debuted on May 26, 2015 under Pledis Entertainment. Within the group, there are performance, vocal, and hip-hop teams. The team name 'Seventeen' means 13 + 3 units (vocal team, hip-hop team, performance team) + 1, which means we are one, 13 + 3 + 1 = 17. Some members of Seventeen have been preparing for their debut since they were trainees in 2012, appearing in music videos of senior singers or working as backup dancers to develop their pre-debut experience. For reference, the only official position classifications mentioned by the agency or themselves are Leader, Main Vocal, Lead Vocal, Sub Vocal, and Rapper. With the exception of one or two group songs, all Seventeen's albums consist of unit and mix unit songs, so all members move freely between positions.
