Why YOHIO is an INTJ (Part 1 of 2) INTROVERTED INTUITION (Ni) Introverted intuition (Ni) is an irrational subjective function that is focused inwards on the internal world of thoughts, ideas, concepts, and images. Those with introverted intuition as their dominant function tend to be very future-focused, thus, once they have perceived an internal image that correlates to their future, it often becomes an inner absolute for the introverted intuitive to ensure that they achieve their goal, that their inner vision is brought into reality. At the young age of twelve, Yohio had discovered his passion for music, and from then on that passion became an inner vision for himself. He was conclusive once he determined that music was what he wanted to pursue in life, and always remained exceptionally driven towards that decision he made. He often mentions how, at times, he imagines what his life would be like if he gave up his music career and if he would ever be okay pursuing something else, and he always comes to the same conclusion. He feels as though he figuratively wouldn’t be able to breathe and that he’s not meant to do anything else except music. Again, a dominant introverted intuitive type will tend to view their inner vision as an absolute, something they must pursue and bring into reality. On top of that, Yohio gives off a stoic or zen energy commonly found in Ni dominant types, as well as often displaying a focused, Ni stare. EXTROVERTED THINKING (Te) The introverted intuitive dominant is concerned first and foremost with pursuing the perception they want to make, what they've perceived as a reality. They want to follow the introverted intuition and they're going to do this via the means of their secondary function which is an extroverted judging function, either Extroverted Thinking (Te) or Extroverted Feeling (Fe). Yohio is much more energized by meeting objectives, getting things done, and finding the best way to accomplish something, as well as creating order and efficiency in his environment, (Te) rather than working with people to create unity, harmony, and a feeling of shared purpose (Fe). Once he concluded he was going to be a Japanese pop star (which was his introverted intuition vision), his extroverted thinking allowed him to translate his vision into logic and make it a reality. Yohio's extroverted thinking took charge and allowed him to push and strive towards his goals; he enrolled in night classes to learn Japanese and would practice his guitar for hours after school. Through years of hard work and dedication, he has managed to take his passion and turn it into his livelihood. While Yohio believes visualization, planning, and goal setting are all important, he understands that nothing will happen until one starts executing those plans and putting down the hours of hard work. INTROVERTED FEELING (Fi) Yohio’s third function, introverted feeling, is very healthy and well developed. I believe he is also an enneagram 4, thus I see how some might believe Fi is higher on his function stack than it really is. Type fours are motivated by authenticity and their desire to express their individuality and to be unique, while the introverted feeling function is energized by getting in touch with its own values, ethics, ideals, and desires. Fi believes in being true to your feelings and wishes in life, even if that makes you a misfit. The core desires and motivations for enneagram fours and for the introverted feeling function are similar. Though by default, he tends to focus more on his inner vision than his personal values and emotions, and his thinking function also slightly outweighs his feeling function. Yohio also isn’t very outwardly emotional as not only is his feeling function introverted, it is also his tertiary function. He is also an Ni-dom, and as introverted intuition is a perceiving function, he prefers to take in information before he reacts emotionally or logically.
