"¿Qué tipo de personalidad es William James Sidis? William James Sidis es un tipo de personalidad INTJ en mbti, 5w6 - sp/so - 513 en enneagram, RCUEI en Big 5, LII en Socionics."
- This is an older argument of mine and there have been new arguments that have been made regarding William's MBTI type, but I'm still convinced that William's an INTJ. If you are not convinced after reading this, or just want to learn more about him, please refer to the post from "xenologist" and the replies to that one, the post from "KonatuZ" and the replies to that one, and the post from "a random INTP" and the replies to that one. - - Please be warned that some of these arguments are, indeed, quite weak. However, there are many very solid arguments that are mentioned. Please view this entire argument as all the arguments added up together, rather than seeing a few weak arguments and deciding that the entire argument is weak. After this, compare it to the INTP arguments, which are, as a whole, much weaker. This will lead to an unbiased conclusion. - I believe that William James Sidis was an INTJ. I haven't seen any other genuine arguments (what could be considered arguments) supporting him being any personality type, and so I am going to take it into my own hands to be the first to develop an argument regarding this. I'll start with analyzing the first part of "The Animate and the Inanimate" by William James Sidis. At the start William states that "At the end of the work, a number of objections to my theory are stated in order to show hat objections can be adduced. I do not attempt to answer these arguments, but, for the sake of fairness to the reader, simply state them and leave them unanswered, so that the reader may decide for himself all the pros and cons of tile question, and come to a more unbiased conclusion." This indicates INTX, as both INTJs and INTPs are interested in unbiased conclusions. However, I'd argue it supports the INTJ side much more than the INTP side, as it strongly indicates Te over Ti. Someone with Introverted Thinking as their dominant function (INTP, for example) would argue their point as Ti is oriented around what it knows subjectively and forms personal views on whether something is logical and objective or not. It decides what is true for itself and its logic is oriented around that. Someone with Extroverted Thinking, on the other hand, would do what William James Sidis did here. This is entirely different from what someone with Ti would do, and INTPs have Ti as their dominant function. Please refer to the replies as I will continue my argument there.
Biografia
William James Sidis (April 1, 1898 – July 17, 1944) was an American child prodigy with exceptional mathematical and linguistic skills. He is notable for his 1920 book The Animate and the Inanimate, in which he postulates the existence of dark matter, entropy and the origin of life in the context of thermodynamics. Sidis was raised in a particular manner by his father, psychologist Boris Sidis, who wished his son to be gifted. Sidis first became famous for his precocity and later for his eccentricity and withdrawal from public life. Eventually, he avoided mathematics altogether, writing on other subjects under a number of pseudonyms. He entered Harvard at age 11 and, as an adult, was claimed to have an extremely high IQ, and to be conversant in about 25 languages and dialects. Some of these claims have not been verifiable, but peers such as Norbert Wiener supported the assertion that his intelligence was very high. He is believed to be the most intelligent person of all time.
