Felt like an ESFJ at first, but the way he rejects traditional faith to come up with his own makes me think Fi. Likewise, his choice to act based on his feelings and come up with his own way to contribute to Almudena's life behind the scenes while disregarding Violet's opinion back in the day, or even explaining anything to her before vanishing seems more Fi than Fe. Going with ESFP for now as being a manual laborer (and also not picking up languages any more easily than his daughter does) points to being a sensor, but an argument could be made for ENFP since he comes up with some novel ideas of his own, took the plunge in traveling abroad in his youth in spite of being nostalgic deep down, and also he can be clumsy/careless.
