"¿Qué tipo de personalidad es Vic Fontaine? Vic Fontaine es un tipo de personalidad ENFJ en mbti, 9w1 - sx/so - 297 en enneagram, SCOAI en Big 5, en Socionics."
Vic seems to be a clear ENFJ to me. Fe- Although he seems to have been designed to perform and entertain, he has wisdom that positively affects the wellbeing of multiple characters including the love shy Odo ('His Way') and the PTSD-ridden Nog ('It's Only a Paper Moon'). He is arguably a better counsellor than Ezri and does more for Nog through action rather than the cliched platitudes that Ezri gives the addled Ferengi. He has an intuitive knowledge of human(noid) behaviour and is depicted as being selfless. His charismatic and charming nature leads the station's senior staff to come to his aid in 'Badda-Bing-Badda-Bang'. Ni- His introverted intuition works in perfect harmony with his extroverted feeling. In his first scene in 'His Way', his reading and understanding of the human(noid) condition allows him to correctly deduce that Dax and Worf are married, that O'Brien is missing his wife and that Odo and Kira have unresolved romantic tension. In 'It's Only a Paper Moon', he devises the ingenious solution of weaning Nog off his walking stick by providing him with a substitute showing that Vic seems to know what is best for his 'clients'. Se- As Vic is modelled off of a sixties lounge singer, he embodies the excesses of those performers. He drinks, gambles and enjoys the high life. He is also worried about his financial situation. Even when Nog volunteers to get the computer to put money into Vic's 'account', Vic refuses saying that he will sort it out. Despite being a hologram, an embodiment of fantasy, he is also firmly grounded in reality. In 'It's Only a Paper Moon', he, through Ezri's goading, becomes aware that Nog is becoming too addicted to the holosuite- to fantasy- that he intervenes and forces Nog to return to reality by deactivating his own program. Ti- As demonstrated through his Ni and Se, Vic has his own set of 'rules' in regards to his logic. His self-aware nature as being a hologram makes him stick to being what he is. However, Ti is, of course, his inferior function. He seems lackadaisical in dealing with logical matters; the Te-dominant Nog has to intervene to sort out Vic's finances and the crew of DS9 help him to establish a plan to get his casino back in 'Badda-Bing-Badda-Bang'. In conclusion, although Vic Fontaine is a divisive character in Deep Space Nine, his charming, charismatic and selfless ENFJ personality acts as a good counterbalance to the seriousness of the Dominion War. Indeed, him using his ENFJ functions for good contrasts well with Gul Dukat who uses his ENFJ personality to do and justify villainous acts.
