He is not a 9 but a 3 who has disintegrated to 9. I have been watching Bale since his Tottenham days. Many people have forgotten but early on in his career he was very ambitious. If you go and watch his early interviews between 2011 to 2016, he often talked about his desire to win trophies, become a football icon, and create a legacy. He used to be very self-critical too, he used to point out his own mistakes in post-match interviews after a bad performance and promise the fans to improve. It was around 2018 that his ambition slowly faded away as he was constantly plaqued by injuries and even after winning 4 champions league he was never appreciated.
