ISFJ 9w1 936 Mera 🤔 Quick character summary: Mera has a fixation with helping her family survive at the cost of her mental and physical health. She goes days (even weeks) without eating in order to make sure her family is taken care of. She overworks herself. Being the oldest, she takes responsibility. This lack of self-care while also being focused on the care of others leads me to believe she's an E9, who are said to find peace outside of themselves. They often let themselves get pushed over, which can come off as people pleasing. Mera does this frequently, as seen with overexhausing herself with jobs, siblings, and school. Although she does display traits of gluttony, like how she would give everyone birthday gifts in order to receive some on her birthday or her insane eating habits, her motivation isn't hedonistic but rather for alternative. She stated herself that she only wanted to collect birthday gifts in oder for her family to be able to eat. Additionally, her mass consumption of food is mainly because she never gets to eat. You may read E9 and think that she can't be because she works too hard, which would contradict the sloth trait. However, it is a sloth to oneself, not always physical laziness. Meaning, she is forgetful to herself and loses her sense of identity. This is easily recognizeable for the reasons stated previously. As for her fixes, I believe she has a 3-fix and a 6-fix. This was a bit harder to figure out since she is a very basic level character. For her 3-fix, she is very ambitious, especially with the episode of her trying to find her dad. She was always steadfast in finding him to help support their family. The part of E3 that she doesn't resonate with is the need to boast her achievements around. However, she is ambitious and strives for efficiency, and fixes aren't going to fit 100%. As for her 6-fix, her anxiety is clear. She is often anxious about what will happen if she is unable to take care of her family. She is also seen seeking authority, as with her father, for guidance. I can't decide what Mera's instinctual variants would be, but I'm leaning on sx/so because she definitely doesn't preserve herself, but she also isn't looking to be part of a group. It appears like, from how dismissive she is about anyone except her family, that she only cares about a special kind of person. Mera's use of Si: I'd say this is very obvious with her. It was revealed that she often thinks about her father and in quite vivid detail. She has a lot of repetitive routines that she feels like she can trust because of using past experiences. Like her birthday free food trick. It also explains her sensory-seeking behavior, such as food. She often talks about her family and is almost always talking about her past, which indicates that it is likely her dominant function. Mera's use of Fe: She shows clear empathy for her family, but also what needs they specifically need. As opposed to Fi users who are more focused on what they feel is right, Fe users focus on what others feel is right. She understands her family well and the people around her. You could also see her using Fe during the event that stranded her and her friends on an island. She could understand the trouble she caused and retrieved food for others in turn. Mera's use of Ti: She uses this function here and there when trying to locate her father. She relies more on her past for this, but she still uses Ti. She doesn't rely on it very often - trusting what she knows from the past more. Mera's use of Ne: Occasionally, she'll pop up a random idea here and there. Her Ne is used very rarely, and her strong desire to stick with what she knows is real and objective makes her more hesitant to explore random ideas.
