Dae is a so9, not a type 2 in any shape or form. They are easily mistaken but I have my reasons to say he's a so9. While type 2s actively attend to the needs of others, so does so9. The difference is that type 2s are more centred on the approval and appreciation they'll get for attending to those needs while so9 isn't. Hence why type 2s have pride within them. However, Dae does not exhibit any sort of pride or approval for helping others. He simply just does it because he likes it, no strings attached. "Dae-jung had always been a people person. All throughout high school he carried a very approachable energy, and he clicked with people easily. It wasn’t hard for him to make friends, and he loved it. He loved knowing he could make others happy." And so9 has the need to be part of a group while type 2 simply needs to be loved. And this very much comes into play with Ye-jun. If Dae's core desire was to simply be loved then Ye-jun fulfils that. That man will do 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 for Dae-jung all because he loves him. And I think if Dae was a type 2, he'd be attracted to that, even if it was only a little bit (as much as that's a dark thought.) And this was made evident by my type 2 friend who stated as such. However, a so9 could not care if it was for love since the people which was part of a group of got murdered by Ye-jun. He needs a group to be a part of and not love in of itself. Dae-jung also suggests more of a laziness and avoidance than a pride and need for appreciation to be loved. "For once in his life he didn’t care about how he looked. It’s not like anyone else was around, anyway. He was done being quiet, and doing what was asked of him." "Dae-jung hadn’t had a moment of silence to himself in a while. The cabin in which he stayed between rounds was pretty empty. Some survivors shared, but not him. After what happened… he found it hard to talk to anyone. He just wanted to be alone at this point." "“It’s too sudden.” Dae-jung moved to look at the floor." Dae-jung chooses to keep himself away from others and avoiding them rather than being social and selfless which is what a type 2 does. He doesn't want to socialise and talk. And when it comes to Javier, he doesn't immediately throw himself at him and still taking caution with him (at least from a chronological standpoint.) A type 2 in Dae's situation would either be flattered from Ye-jun's infatuation and approval he gives and getting wrapped into that or finding someone else to attend to and get that love and appreciation, which is Javier and fiercely attending to him to get his approval. So in my opinion, Dae is a social 9, not a type 2. (And ngl, none of the type 2 subtypes really fit him. He's not childish and getting someone to protect him like a sp2, ambitious like a so2 or seducing like a sx2.)
