Yao Chang (Chinese: 姚萇; 331–394), courtesy name Jingmao (景茂), Emperor Wuzhao of (Later) Qin ((後)秦武昭帝), was the founding emperor of the Later Qin dynasty. He was the twenty-fourth son of Yao Yizhong, the chief of the Qiang in Nan'an, and the younger brother of Yao Xiang. After Yao Xiang was killed by the Former Qin army, Yao Chang was also captured and became a general of the former Qin Dynasty. After the Battle of Feishui, Yao Chang proclaimed himself King of Qin in Wannian (萬年秦王) under the recommendation of the Qiang people, established the Later Qin, and fought against the former Qin army, which was under the leadership of Fu Jian. Yao Chang later killed Fu Jian, occupied Chang'an, the capital of Former Qin and soon proclaimed himself emperor. Fu Deng, the former clan of Former Qin, continued to fight against Yao Chang with the support of the remnants of the Di tribe in Guanzhong. Yao Xing, the son of Yao Chang, eliminated the remaining forces of the Former Qin Dynasty after the death of Yao Chang.
