I do believe Zombie Stage Mizi is fundamentally not the same person as Alien Stage Mizi. This time she is Attachment (3) instead of Hexad (2), and it is why the opposite struggle can be seen in her as compared with Alien Stage Mizi. Hexad types are rigid and struggle with their environments because they do not change themselves. Attachment types are fluid and struggle with themselves because they change to their environments. Faced with pressure from the environment, Alien Stage Mizi had one strategy - to project youthfulness, feign innocence, to play dumb - and she continued it to the very end even through times where it proved confusing or inappropriate (which incidentally I also believe is why it took extended time for the audience to understand her) and subsequently backfired; however, in doing so, she also stayed true to herself and survived the events with her inner core intact. This is how the Hexad types naturally operate; the coping mechanism has developed without the environment as a reference, so it does not know how to adapt to the environment. Zombie Stage Mizi has the opposite struggle. Faced with pressure from the environment, she conforms to it completely. Her compliance with the externally-imposed female ideal is seamless. Yet her internal state is in tatters, which manifests as self-loathing (which she takes out on Sua, who ironically ends up as a proxy for her true desires), dead-eyed hollowness, and later the literal loss of interiority as she becomes a zombie with little cognitive awareness (also symbolizing her total loss of self). This is how the Attachment types naturally operate; the coping mechanism has developed in reference to the environment, so it takes on the expectations of the environment. While this flexible relationship with the external world is often an advantage, here Mizi has followed it to its unhealthiest manifestation and lost sight of her core identity.
