EDITED: I was wrong, Bolin is not a 7, he's a CLEAR 9, golden retriever type. This also explains why he feels kind of ESFJish too, with that 9 Peacemaker flavouring. He has the classic 9 tell of getting swept up in everyone else's priorities: He is Mako's little bro and sidekick, joins Korra's mission, works as Asami's secretary, stars in Varrick's Movers, dates Eska despite being terrified, joins Kuvira's army--dude just does whatever the latest person asks him to do. Bolin gets along with everyone, and always preserves connection, even if is killing him (see Eska). Dude is pretty aimless-his main priority is just preserving connection/harmony. If he was a Beatle he would be (9 poster boy) Ringo Starr--the ego-less, simple, down to earth, fun loving, glue of the group, who acts as a buffer between the more abrasive , ego-driven personalities. He is the guy who would write "Octopus's Garden". During the reunion episode in book 4, Bolin is missing and the whole team gets so annoyed by one another. Not a coincidence. Contrast him with Varrick who is an insane 7 caricature--witty, calculating, manic, self-absorbed charlatan. Bolin is outgoing and fun like many a 7, but when he moves from job to job this isn't a guy running from boredom or chasing better opportunities--like Varrick. It's more like he is just going with the flow. He is very charming like Varrick, but there's no angle towards bettering his situation-dude just wants to be nice to everyone and get a long. He chats up the dangerous red lotus members, but not to lower their guard and charm his way out, he's just a genuinely friendly dude. He has classic gut type power and physical groundedness, but is afraid of conflict. Contrast him with a clear 8 like Toph or a a righteously angry 1 like Katara. ----------------------------------------- I feel like early on they were taking him in an ESFP direction (when he and Korea went on a date they were goofing around Se style). But season 2-4 he is undoubtedly ENFP. Not Varrick level Ne, but still! There is something about us ENFP 7's where sometimes we end up befriending bad guys or ending up in relationships with Eska types and can't figure out how to break up with them (probably because delivering bad news isn't our strong suit). Nuk Tuk is definitely ESFP.
