I think he's just an ENTJ with good people skills. I'm sure a major reason why he didn't initially act like his usual power-hungry, domineering self openly was because he knew if he did the townspeople would turn against him (which ended up happening to him in "Gideon Rises"). After that point he doesn't even try to hide his actual personality anymore. "I think Gideon is an ENTJ because he seems to use Te-Ni (very commanding, future oriented, people oriented) and while he initially appears as an Fe user, I think that that's just his façade to win over the townsfolk of Gravity Falls. Biografia
The main antagonist of Season 1. Gideon Charles Gleeful, better known by his stage name, Li'l Gideon, is a self-proclaimed television psychic. He owns the Tent of Telepathy and is a competitor of the Mystery Shack. He had one of the journals, and spent the first season trying to destroy the Pines family and the shack, trying to get his hands on the rest of the journals. At the end of the season, he was thwarted, thrown in into prison, and his journal was seized by Stan, but he still plans on escaping. He represents the pentacle on the Zodiac.
