To add on to my post below a bit, which explains Ni/Se and Ne/Si in more detail with definitions and such (and taking this from a comment response too): 1) Ni is characterized by insight and depth in its perception of the "essence" of raw reality (Se), its pursuit of an ideal, as well as its rather visionary and tunnel-visioned quality. From their early years at Karasuno, you see that Daichi was the one to inspire his teammates to keep going, through his own uncompromising vision towards what he wanted Karasuno to become—an ideal he wished to achieve that was created within his own mind. If you look at his wiki page, there is even a picture of this happening: "Daichi explains his goals of going to nationals." Throughout the series, we see that it is Daichi's visionary way of leading (Fe + Ni/Se), where he is able to direct and inspire the team to focus on the ideal outcome in the far future, that defines his interactions with his teammates. He is less detailed and multifaceted/indirect in his communication style (Fe-Si/Ne) and more holistic and direct (Fe-Ni/Se). This is touched on in my previous post too. • Ni/Se is defined by its depth and focus, and Ni is known for looking below the surface of things, which Daichi is most definitely adept at. If I recall correctly, despite Sugawara and Tanaka trying to keep it a secret, he figures out that they were helping the freshmen practice, for example. ——— 2) As I've written below, Ne/Si is comparatively more open in its perception in that it isn't nearly as committed to a singular, uncompromising perspective (especially with both of them in the middle, rather than with Ne inferior). Instead, it stresses considering things broadly, from multiple angles, which isn't apparent in Daichi's approach at all. • Daichi is shown to be rather harsh at times when others butt against his own perception, like the way he insists that the freshman can't play for them until they fix their attitude; this is because he foresees it becoming a problem in the future. Their lack of cooperation gets in the way of his vision for Karasuno, and he tends to want others to buy into and adopt this vision (but not in as uncompromising of a way that an ENTJ would go about it, since Fe/Ti is still more considerate and harmonizing about working with others to achieve it than Te/Fi is). ——— 3) ENFJs also have tertiary Se, which makes them present and grounded in reality *as it is*; comparatively, you would probably see more inklings of the tangential, indirect, and skeptical nature of Ne in Daichi if he were an ESFJ (ex: Kyouko Hori, Ochako Uraraka, Tohru Honda, Leorio from HxH), but he is the opposite of tangential; rather, he tends to "hit the nail on the head" as Michael Pierce describes Ni/Se, saying or doing *exactly* what needs to be said/done. This is because Ni makes it so that they easily grasp the most essential; it is described as drawing a line of best fit (Ni) for a plot of data (Se). Some good definitions of Se vs Si, which I’ll discuss next: https://www.idrlabs.com/articles/2015/03/a-definition-of-se-and-si/ ——— 4) Regarding the misconceptions of what Si is: experience =/= Si. If it did, then Sugawara would be a Si user too, because he uses what he observes and experiences to orient his play style (in that episode where he gets to be setter). Instead, both Ni and Si draw from their experiences, but what they take away from it is different; Ni extracts the underlying theme or essence, abstracting away from the sensory components to draw a holistic conclusion that can be applied later. Si extracts an archetype or ideal form of the sensory components of something, abstracting away from objective sensation and creating a detailed "diagram" within their own minds. You can see that Kageyama does this in the way he plays, like how he has a very meticulous catalogue of various sensations that he relies on (I've written more about this on his page). Daichi, like Sugawara, is more interested in reading in between the lines and extracting underlying patterns and connections (Ni) in the way their opponents play, even from "past experience".
