Biographie
The third Clayface, Preston Payne, was born an acromegalic, suffering from chronic hyperpituitarism, which grotesquely distorted his physical appearance. Shunned and friendless throughout his life, Payne consulted plastic surgeons in vain. After persuading Matt Hagen (Clayface II) to donate a sample of his blood to him, Payne injected himself with an enzyme he had isolated from Hagen's blood, rendering his own flesh malleable.
