I'll drop here a little argument I made about him. I don't like him as a character and he's very bad, but I love Dori Sukarada and I can't deny the fact he made a great job. TW: there are mentions of SA, which could lead somebody to get triggered. Noting in the details, but always be careful. Also, there could be spoilers if you didn't finish the series - but again, nothing in the details. 𝗡𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗶 𝗦𝘂𝗴𝘂𝗿𝘂 – 𝗦𝗫𝟰 - “Ichazo’s neurosis for E4 sexual subtype, according to Claudio Naranjo: Sexual: Hate, competitiveness. Aggressive demand of that for which one suered in childhood.” Just by this single sentence we can see how Niragi is actually the “symbol” of SX4; His character is full of hate, anger and aggressiveness based on what he experienced when he was a student. There’s the quote that says “the abused becomes the abuser”, which fits Niragi and his unacceptable behavior towards others. - "Envy in the Sexual: She wants to deprive others of what she envies for her own benefit ("cannibalistic" impulses, insofar as the search for the introjection of the other is already present in the fury of the bite).” Something that’s very important to point out is what Niragi envies from others: first of all we can see this first with Chishiya: “Aren’t you sick of bullying others?” “You really get on my nerves, all the times!” Chishiya doesn’t need a rifle or an eccessive behavior to put people, especially Niragi, on their places. His cocky expression is enough to make people actually “fear” him. Niragi, on the other hand, needs to be eccentric. He needs a weapon to scare people. Without all these things, he would show himself as the coward he is. The same happens with Usagi and Arisu. He hates the relationship between them because it’s something he never experienced. He tries to get Usagi using his force, trying to abuse her for TWO times. He doesn’t want to accept the fact that nobody is gonna love him, especially for the way he acts – so, he can only takes what he wants using his force. Also Beatrice Chestnut describes the SX4 as: - “Sexual Fours make others suffer as an unconscious way of trying to rid themselves of painful feelings of deficiency. In denying their suffering and being more shameless than shameful, they express their needs more and can be demanding of others. In seeking to be the best, they express envy in its manifestation as competition. They express “an envy that wants,” unconsciously turning their pain at inner lack into feelings of anger about not getting what they need from others.” The only way Niragi can actually avoid the thoughts about his bullying is making others suffer. Even in S2, during the King of Clubs game, to deny the fact he was suffering (mentally and physically because of the burns) and he was scared of dying, he started to bully the rest of the team calling them “failure” and then to assult Usagi, smashing her head to the ground. In games too, his behavior was the most eccentric one: at the end of the last episode of S1, Ten of Hearts game, he felt so powerful trying to find the “witch” by literally killing everyone. SO4 or SP4? According to Naranjo: “Envy in the Social: She wants to elevate what she envies above herself and beautify it as if she were allowing herself to be swallowed up by the beauty she conceives or perceives. Envy in the Conservation: She wants to take care of herself as if she implicitly takes it for granted that no one will take care of her, and as if she has resigned herself to this frustration.” According to Chestnut: “Self-Preservation Four: “Tenacity” (countertype) The Self-Preservation Four is long-suffering. As the countertype of the Fours, SP Fours are stoic in the face of their inner pain and they don’t share it with others as much as the other two Fours. This is a person who learns to tolerate pain and to do without as a way of earning love. Instead of dwelling in envy, SP Fours act out their envy by working hard to get what others have and they lack. More masochistic than melodramatic, these Fours demand a lot of themselves, have a strong need to endure, and have a passion for effort. Social Four: “Shame” The Social Four suffers more, feels more shame, and is more sensitive than the other two Fours. Envy fuels a focus on shame and suffering as they employ a strategy of seducing others into meeting their needs through an intensification of pain and suffering. They experience a sense of comfort in feeling melancholy. Envy also manifests in lamenting too much, taking on the victim role, and focusing on a sense of their own inferiority. Social Fours don’t compete with others as much as they compare themselves to others and find themselves lacking.” I’m more prone to say SO>SP. Even if Niragi works hard to get what he lacks, the way he does it is too aggressive to be stoic as SP4 is. I also want to underline the fact that he doesn’t have a passion for effort, he has no patience – he wants everything NOW.
