Only a 7w8 would shove a whole cake in his mouth. Ti is the central conflict of the film. His entire worldview is shattered. For the first half of the film he is experimenting, trying to figure out how things work. Once he has an idea, his next plan is engaging his Se in hedonistic pursuits, which are theoretically limitless given there are few if any consequences. After awhile this gets old, and his mind shifts to Ni. He starts to wonder the point to everything. Since his Ti tells him everyday will be identical, and his Se pleasures are not satisfactory long term, he cannot find meaning and tries to kill himself. After this too fails to bring closure, he moves on to his final function: Fe. He makes his life about helping others and THIS is what brings him fulfillment.
