she reminds me so much of my mum (they literally share the same tritype) nevertheless i would say my mom has a stronger 1 fix ( no one cares but i love my mom) . as this show reminds me of “the sopranos” i would say she also reminds me of Carmela (also same tritype) they are all good moms :,) i love carmela very much she’s so cool. moms really make look good to have 1 fixes well, those are just some of the reasons i like Ruth a lot. sp2 can be perceived as co-dependent and overwhelming often, specially with their family which i’ve noticed is the one thing they care the most about. Ruth is always taking care of Nate, David and Claire. She wants to reconnect with them since they are growing up, she wants to feel needed by them but that’s not the case. Naranjo description says “The underlying theme of the conservation E2 is that he doesn't feel valuable enough or worthy of being loved. So he does things for others, seeking to be needed, because he assumes he won't be abandoned and the other will return protection. And, as he doesn't know how to set limits, he does it with attitudes of rejection and annoyance, looking more like a tantrum child.” One special thing about sp2 is that they tend to act very childish, the way they ask for things, the way they act when they feel unloved. When Ruth doesn’t get the attention she wants, she yells “ WELL, IN THIS FAMILY NO ONE CARES ABOUT WHAT I DO” and then she leaves. She acts like a child would act when they feel mistreated. Another important thing, in these 2 seasons , I haven’t seen Ruth doing something for her, she is ALWAYS doing something for someone else, she is constantly asking if someone else needs her help and she even helps them when they clearly don’t want to. She does all these things cause she wants to feel their family closer to her, even when she helped Nikolai (which is not part of her family) but maybe she just wanted to feel desired idk i’m just finishing season 2 but these are my thoughts for now. hopefully when i finish the show i come here and write something else
