Isn't it more reasonable to see him as a sexual 7 than a 4, he has that dreaminess which both 4:s and sexual 7:s have. But what makes me think that he is a Sx 7 and not a 4 is that all his dreams are extremely enthusiastic and positive. And I see also stronger traits of him being an assertive type than a withdrawn type, whenever he sees an enemy in the book, for example, a windmill, some dolls or wine sacks, he goes after it without any hesitation. He does not withdraw and contemplate about whether it is the right thing to do or not, but rather he goes forward without any hesitation does what, according to him and noone else, needs to be done. The real world has been filled with dreams and idealisized visions rather than that he in his dreams makes up a world and then lives in it. The first one would be typical for a Sx 7, whereas the second one would be typical of 4:s. Nor is there the darkness in him which 4:s have, who can dive deep down into the psyche and look at all the dark parts of it. The only time he becomes dark is in the end of the novel, when he realisizes that his fantasyies are not true. Before that he is always upbeat, positive and ready for the next adventure.
Biographie
Alonso Quixano is an hidalgo nearing 50 years of age who lives in a deliberately unspecified region of La Mancha with his niece and housekeeper. While he lives a frugal life, as an avid reader of chivalric romances, he is full of fantasies about chivalry. Eventually, he goes mad and decides to become a knight errant. His behavior and actions, while noble and well-intentioned, are seen as delusional and irrational by those around him, including his family and friends. In this way, Quijano's "insanity" is a result of his societal context and the disconnect between his perceived reality and the reality of those around him.
