After finally finishing the show, here's what I can conclude: - Couldn't talk to real girls very well because he was shy and socially awkward, so he decided to do research, now it's just what he does - His goal is to understand how girls think so he can talk to them better - Shy around new people, but when he gets comfortable he says things he'll regret later and say things more carelessly - Loves compliments and actively seeks it - he does this when he is at his most comfortable or lets his guard down - "If only we knew a pushover who's easily tricked, easily swayed by flattery" - "someone who tries too hard, embarrassed easily, worries way to much and feels down a lot" - Does this thing where he follows you around hiding not saying anything What I wanted to figure out is WHY he does what he does even when it embarrassed him so much. Why doesn't he just stop? People are saying it's because of others and he does it because people like that persona but maybe it's because of himself?? I think he does it because he enjoys portraying himself that way, even if he does ends up embarrassed. He taught himself how to act cool because wanted to talk to girls. He doesn't put up this act for others but for himself. I feel people are saying Fe because he has trouble saying no to people but I think there's more to it. I don't think he does his charming/cool thing for the sake if others but because he loves compliments and being seen as cool. The attention can overwhelm him and get him into sticky situations sometimes, but that doesn't stop him from having that persona because he still wants to be a cool charming guy. He says something cool because he just wanted to say it and then it goes wrong when people take him seriously. He isn't ignoring his own feelings, he does his cool act not only with strangers, but with people he knows well too (when he's at his most comfortable). He acted that way in front of Chiyo multiple times while being aware of the fact that she doesn't swoon (she ends up having a blank face) and Kishima. The audience or the results of his act doesn't matter because he's thinking about the way he wants to potray himself. He's easily manipulated not because he's thinking of others, but because he likes the thought of others seeing him as cool and others use that to their advantage. He clearly tries to refuse not all to gently, all you have to do is change his mindset with the praise they all know he loves. This is what I think anyway... I don't think he's thinking: How can I keep everyone happy I think he's instead thinking: How can fix this situation while still being "cool"
