Firstly, I know people, both dead and alive, who are or were friends with Yoko. They all like(d) her. Some of the s*** people say about her and her marriage to John is really unfair. And no, she did not break up The Beatles. This is not to say she is perfect and hasn’t done things that may confuse people. However, I have yet to meet a perfect individual without flaws and who hasn’t made mistakes. As far as her type goes, I think she’s an Enneagram 4w5 without question. Throughout her life she has always been focused on her identity and expressing this. As with many 4s with a 5 wing, she appears to be more attentive to understanding the world and expressing herself without concern for image and how she is perceived by others (something more endemic to 4w3s). In terms of her MBTI, I would go for INFJ. Although it is important to remember that INFPs and INFJs are very different from each other, there are inevitably some overlaps. For example, both place a great deal of stock in authenticity and self-expression. The reason I am opting for INFJ over INFP is that Yoko has always appeared to be most concerned with interpersonal harmony (Fe), rather than the intrapersonal harmony (Fi) that is the foundation for all decision-making in INFPs. In heated interviews with John getting angry at reporters, Yoko almost always tried to diffuse the situation. Furthermore, her peace activism and work on gun reform reflects a desire for harmony between people. This is not to say these values are exclusive to INFJs, however. She also seems to be an Ni-dom. Highly creative and single-minded, rather than the bouncy, sporadic possibility jumping of Ne, which was found abundantly in John. I think she is a healthy INFJ 4w5 who is very in touch with her values as well as the feelings of those around her.
