I think a well rounded and mature INFJ like him may appear like a Sentinel type at times, but the biggest indicator for me as to why he is still INFJ lies in the strong idealism towards the whole apocalypse for the longest time. Not only did he believe that it will blow over, and have this long term vision of how it's going to be based on very symbolic and intuitive properties such as religion, he also hid and fed Zombies for the longest time because he believed they were just sick. Not only the loved ones that were turned but also every other Zombie they came across. He seems to be more preoccupied with preserving and protecting their peace and their values rather than structure, order and stability like Rick, who is undoubtedly ISTJ.
